1916 Art Exhibition

It was decided that a few of us from Galway Youthreach would go down to Connacht Tribune Print Works, 15 Market Street, Galway during the afternoon of our Wednesday activity day to see the Galway 1916 Art Exhibition. The exhibition is running from the 23rd of March to the 13th of April 2016. The exhibition has art from over thirty different artists on display, and shows a wide variety of different art styles. The best part is that this event is free! It is open to the public from Monday to Thursday 11am to 6pm and Friday to Sunday 10am to 6pm.

Overall I felt that everyone enjoyed the exhibition, and it was interesting to see that people our age a hundred years ago were fighting so hard for the freedom we have now. The artists works inspired a few of us, to try out new art styles when working on projects in the art room here in Youthreach; especially the large charcoal drawing of Constance Markievicz!

I was in charge of taking photographs during the event, check out a few of them below!
