Clean Up 2017

First clean up of 2017

By Emily

I am on the green schools committee and we as a committee came up with the idea to clean up the area in Liosban where we attend as students in Youthreach. I designed the flyers which will be handed out to the local businesses and the poster which is hung on the noticeboard in Youthreach for the spring clean up on April 25th 2017.

We got the idea to hold the clean up from a teacher in Youthreach who had done it in her local area. We thought it would be a great opportunity to help clean up some of the rubbish around Liosban Business Park where we are located. We were meant to get a skip but the cost meant we could not, so now we are using rubbish bags from the county council. We have organised a drop off point within the estate for our rubbish bags so they can be collected and disposed of. We have looked around the area to see where needs our attention and on the day a group Youthreach students along green schools members will go out and pick up all the rubbish we can find.
