Wednesday Activities 2018
Wednesday is a day where the students take some time out from QQI level 3 and 4 and do some activities. The morning starts with D.E.A.R. drop everything and read, this is followed by S.P.H.E program. After this our students we all go out for a walk around Galway, route starts out from Liosban Industrial estate, up the Tuam Road, we cross at the traffic lights onto the Mervue road, we keep on this road till we cross at the traffic lights at Thermo King and we head out onto the Dublin Road, we follow the Dublin road until we are back at the centre. This is about 6000 steps for those counting such things.
In the afternoon we break into different activities, such as sport in Mervue community centre, driving theory for those who want to pass their test, some do archery, others do the health and fitness module, green schools is also a very big part of Wednesday and last but not least some do some knitting. In all a very packed day.
But what happens if it rains and we can’t go for our beloved walk, well we have a program of activities for this eventuality, so what do we do, some do I.C.T which means they do some work on our blog, some do darts , some do some personal effectiveness in other words make-up and some mindfulness colouring, some learn how to play cards/draughts and others do some challenges on the x-box all in all a very busy day.
