Young Social Innovators

We have decided to enter Y.S.I this year. After discussion on different topics the students have decided to explore our teenage brain.

What do we mean exploring the teenage brain?. We want to find out how the brain is developing and why we sometime behave the way we do!

So far we have found that!!!

The Teen Brain is in a constant state of development. Some areas of the brain mature faster than others. The areas of the brain associated with rewards, motivation, and impulsivity matures early

Your prefrontal cortex, which thinks about things logically, weighs and pros and cons, and restrains you matures later. This means teens can be more prone to riskier and impulsive behaviours and less likely to consider consequences than an adult would be.
